GROUP CLASSES

Our group classes offer the perfect mix of intimate coaching, accountability and the camaraderie experienced with training alongside others.

We offer a wide variety of group classes to accommodate a wide spectrum of fitness levels and interests.

CrossFit Fundamentals

  • New members to CrossFit SouthEnd will start their fitness journey here.
  • Perfect for beginners who are new to CrossFit or fitness in general.
  • Primary focus is to introduce you to new exercises in a slow and steady progression.
  • Classes are capped at 15 participants and last 1 hour.
  • Once you’ve mastered proficiency of these movements, you’ll have the option to “test out” of Fundamentals and into the CrossFit Performance class.

CrossFit Performance

  • After completing your “test out” of the Fundamentals class, this would be the next progression of your fitness.
  • Once technique and exercise mechanics are mastered, it’s time to focus on increasing the intensity of your training.
  • Advanced fitness methodology and a deeper understanding of what is occurring within your body during exercise is emphasized.
  • Classes are capped at 15 participants and last 1 hour.
  • Members will develop an even higher level of athletic potential and body awareness to perform exercises safely and efficiently.

Olympic Weightlifting

  • Primary aim is improving technique in the Snatch & Clean + Jerk.
  • Recommended for individuals who have “test out” of Fundamentals class and are interested in advancing their Olympic weightlifting.
  • Great for developing speed, coordination, balance and strength.
  • Classes are capped at 10 participants and last 1 hour.

Endurance

  • Designed to teach the finer points of running technique – proper foot striking, cadence, breathing, pacing, etc.
  • Great addition to any fitness routine or as the primary training method for those preparing for a race.
  • Video analysis of running form frequently used to showcase mechanical errors for improvement
  • Classes are capped at 15 participants and last 1 hour.

Deep Stretch

  • A series of floor postures and stretches that are held for several minutes at a time.
  • Perfect for anyone looking to increase flexibility in their hips, hamstrings, shoulders, calves, spine, etc.
  • Excellent dose of injury prevention and body maintenance by lengthening tight and short muscles.
  • Classes are capped at 10 participants and last 1 hour.

Strength

  • Focusing on structural strength to perform life’s daily tasks – squatting, deadlifting and pressing.
  • Accessory exercises are coached to help strengthen specific areas of the body that are lagging behind.
  • Technique and proper mechanics are drilled routinely to ensure safety.
  • Classes are capped at 15 participants and last 1 hour.

Competition

  • Designed for those using CrossFit as a sport, not a general fitness program.
  • Coaches will create “game-day” scenarios and training programs to develop the competitive athlete.
  • Independent programming is provided to be completed during Open Gym.
  • Local competitions will be selected throughout the year for participants to compete.

Mobility

  • Educating our members on how to perform basic maintenance on their bodies to relieves aches and pains associated with both active and sedentary lifestyles.
  • You’ll be taught how to perform SMR (self-myofacial release) techniques using foam rollers, lacrosse balls, bands, etc.
  • Classes are capped at 10 participants and last 1 hour.
